  • The Calmark Group is seeking a full-time Account Manager to work in our Bedford Park, IL location.

    This position requires you to provide superior customer service to accounts, customers, and sales representatives. You will also provide support and information to programming, production, and warehouse departments. You will be required to function in a professional manner, with a sense of urgency, and must be detailed orientated in order to increase our value as a leader in the direct mail industry.  

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Complete service requirements & requests from customers, and sales representatives.
    • Supporting assigned customer accounts and sales representatives.
    • Processing job estimates, enter orders based upon programming & production specifications, shipping releases, and order invoicing.
    • Timeliness & accuracy of information and updating information in assigned account files and the computer database.
    • Resolving conflicts that may arise between customer requirements and the production schedule, keeping sales and the customer informed of problems.
    • Create work orders and ensuring the correct raw materials & postage funds are available by the required ready date.
    • Communicating with customers and sales representatives, providing information from files and computer system as needed.
    • Managing account inventory and timely inventory releases.
    • Following all plant safety, sanitation and quality procedures.
    • Any other appropriate work assignments as required.

    Requirements:

    • 5 plus years of Customer Service experience in the direct mail or printing industry is highly desirable.
    • Excellent oral & written communication skills.
    • Extremely organized and efficient in handling workload.
    • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
    • Superior and proven customer service experience.
    • Order Entry, Order Processing, Invoicing and Inventory Management.
    • High School diploma or equivalent is required.

    About the Opportunity
    Must be dependable, extremely detail-oriented, looking for a challenge and willing to learn. Knowledge of direct mail, programming or database administration a definite plus as is knowledge of GMC Inspire Software. This is a very fast-paced environment.     Job Description and Responsibilities
    Responsible for programming direct mail jobs.  Set up market communications pieces using tools such as GMC Inspire. Analyze client data requirements for direct mail jobs. This includes selecting, sorting, formatting and manipulating data to meet client mail instructions and U.S. postal requirements for mail certification. Programming includes letter setup, laying out variables fields with static text and graphics and merging the setup with data for laser printing/inkjet printing. Generate printer output to cut sheet, continuous and inkjet printers. Perform quality checks and control, code review and standard data validation practices prior to production release. Troubleshoot complex application issues and improve performance as needed. Take daily direction from the Programming Manager.

    Qualifications
        * Direct Mail programming experience needed in GMC Inspire and BCC Postal Software
        * Process customer data files for postal qualification, including CASS, NCOA and presort
        * Experience in Access, Excel, Word, Acrobat and Photoshop 
        * Must have the ability to comprehend written and verbal instructions 
        * Commitment to meet production deadlines is paramount
        * Generate files for MCS inkjet equipment
        * Ability to write code in Visual Basic and C++ or C# a plus
        * Experience with batch processing is a plus
        * Postal regulations and DMM knowledge required
        * Communicate and collaborate with account representatives to ensure accuracy for each project
        * Strong time management and organization skills
        * Ability to multi-task and handle multiple job assignments
        * Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
        * Experience with File Transfer Protocol (FTP)
        * Database Management skills a huge plus

    College degree in Computer Science or related technical field preferred. Ability to utilize “off the shelf” software to create direct mail output files for the printing process and writing local applications to assist in the manipulation of this data. A high attention to detail is a must.

  • SUMMARY

    To combine printed sheets into finished products such as envelopes, calendars, card and/or other mailing material; which involves cutting, folding, collating, gluing or wrapping of the finished product(s).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Reviews customer orders and specifications; obtains material from stock and sets up machine to run.
    • Ability to read, understand and follow job sheet with stock codes and quantities.
    • Ability to follow special instructions for a particular job.
    • Makes small adjustments to machinery to correct any quality control problems or deviations from customer specifications.
    • Performs and fills out quality checklist at the beginning of the shift and each time that a new job begins.  
    • Checks new box of stock against current job sheet to ensure that it is the right stock to run.
    • Forwards order with correct count to shipping department.
    • Checks machine for minor paper and/or other jams.
    • Turns on red light for mechanical assistance and yellow light for supervisory assistance.
    • Follows company safety regulations to ensure that guards are in place and that power is shut off and locked out when operations are complete and/or before starting up the equipment.

    EDUCATION AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Ability to read, write and speak English.
    • At least 6 months of experience operating bindery equipment; hands-on knowledge of equipment such as collators, folding machines, electronic cutting machines and related equipment.

    Duties will include electrical and electronic support, preventative maintenance, installation, service, repair, troubleshooting and resolution of various industrial mailing machines within a manufacturing industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical experience, a familiarity pneumatics and have basic troubleshooting experience with proven ability of machine repair.

    Operational knowledge of automated industrial machinery includes; AC and DC motors, servos, sensors, pumps, AC and DC drives, relays, 3 phase power, communication devices, Ethernet, industrial electronic controls, PLCs, pneumatic systems, and power transmission systems.

    Abilities:
    Able to read and understand schematics and locate components on PCBs.
    Thorough understanding of electricity and electronic theory, digital logic, switching power supplies.
    Proficient in the use of lab test equipment such as multi meters, clamp meters, tachometers.
    PLC trouble shooting and problem solving.
    Capable of diagnosis and repair of analog and digital circuits down to the component level.
    Competent and skilled at soldering. Capable of reworking/replacing through hole and SMT components.
    Experience with high voltage (480V) powered circuits.
    Knowledge of the various types of sensors and limit switches.
    Able to install and trouble shoot basic 3 phase motor control circuits such as VFDs.
    Experience with Mitsubishi and Automation Direct PLCs and HMIs is a plus.
    Experience with Pitney Bowes Inserters and MCS machine vision and printers is a plus.

    Education: Associates Degree in Electronics or higher.

    Experience: 5+ years of experience in industrial electronics, trouble shooting electrical control systems down to component level
    An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be accepted.

  • SUMMARY
    To insert finish product into an envelope, folded letters, calendars, card affixed to folded forms and or other mailing material.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

    • Read and Reviews job instructions, match the codes on the matrix with the stock at the machine before running. Checking the codes on every box that is at the machine or placed at the machine during the shift.
    • Ability to read, understand information on instruction and quantities.
    • Ability to follow special instructions for a particular job.
    • Perform and fills out quality checklist at the beginning of the shift and each time that a new job begins.  
    • Understand the different sorts of the mail, and be able to determine the difference between pack and ship or comingle.
    • Be aware of the quality of the product the we are producing.
    • Make sure that the information is placed correctly on the production sheet and other paper work. That is required if needed for the job you are inserting.
    • Checks machine to make sure that the detection is working properly and all operations are on if needed.

    • Position requires individual to be on their feet much of the time collecting QC production samples at various time intervals based on the client request (every 15 minutes, 30 minutes or 60 minutes).
